Joe Puishys

Joe was named Apogee Enterprises, Inc. chief executive officer (CEO), president and a member of the board of directors in August 2011.

Before joining Apogee, Joe served in ever increasing leadership positions at Honeywell International and before that at Allied Signal. The first 24 years of Joe’s career were in the automotive sector, both passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles, with finance, operational and general management responsibilities at Fram, Autolite, Garrett Engine Boosting and Bendix Brakes. Joe’s last position in the automotive segment was as President of the global Bendix Brakes business in Detroit.

Board appointments include: National Association of Manufacturers; Chairman of the Board, Killebrew-Thompson Memorial Foundation; Board of Trustees, Bryant University in Smithfield, RI; Lead Director, SitelogIQ; and Board of Governors, Minneapolis Club. Joe is also a member of the Minnesota Business Partnership, made up of CEOs of the state’s largest employers; and former board member of  Arctic Cat Inc., a leader in the manufacture and distribution of snowmobiles and ATVs (December 2012 until the company’s sale in March 2017).  He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Bryant University and his master’s in business administration from Providence College.

Joe enjoys competition trap shooting and bird hunting as well as snowmobiling, golfing and travel.  Joe and his wife, Kathi, have homes in Minneapolis, MN, Huntington Beach, CA, and Clam Lake, WI.  They have two children, Katelyn, a professional equestrian and riding instructor, and Joseph III, an officer in the United States Navy.
